Opportunities by program
Cooking Up Connections: Brings seniors together to enjoy a meal, meet new people, learn about healthy foods and socialize. Volunteers help with cooking tasks, set-up, clean-up, socializing and assisting with various duties as needed.
Out and About: Offers opportunities for seniors to build friendships while participating as a group in social and recreational activities in the community. Volunteers accompany larger groups for coordination and safety purposes; may assist with walkers.
Better at Home: Helps seniors with simple day-to-day tasks to maintain living independently in their own homes. Services include friendly visiting, transportation, grocery shopping, light housekeeping, light yard work, snow shoveling, and simple home repairs. Volunteers choose the services they wish to provide. Regularly scheduled or one-time tasks are available. Service area spans from Okanagan Falls to Summerland.
How to apply
Our application process includes an interview, reference checks, criminal record check and an orientation. Our application form can be picked up at our office, emailed or downloaded (below) and printed off. Drop off or email completed form and someone from our office will contact you to arrange an interview.
