	The South Okanagan Seniors Wellness Society is planning for its 20th annual Seniors Symposium. The trade show will be held on Wednesday October 19th from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre. This year we are celebrating our 20th year for the Seniors Symposium. Also, Interior Health is planning to kick off their 2011 seasonal flu immunization at the Seniors Symposium again this year.
	The theme this year is “Volunteering & Healthy Aging”. This year the Seniors Symposium aims to bring a stronger awareness of the benefits of volunteering a healthier and happier quality of life. Volunteering can generate a heightened sense of self-esteem and confidence, reduce heart rates and blood pressure, and increase endorphin production. This results in greater feelings of well-being and calm boosts immune and nervous system functioning, reduces stress, and helps to overcome social isolation.
	The Seniors Symposium is the single largest seniors’ event in North America. This event attracts over 5000 participants to the trade show each year. Exhibitors showcase their products and services year after year because they are ensured profile in a seniors market.
